Maison de Montgibaud is found in the un-spoilt countryside village of Montgibaud in the heart of the Correze department of France. It is a short drive from the village of Meuzac and the larger town of Lubersac and only 15 mins drive from the beautiful famous town of Pompadour well known for its stud farm, horse track and magnificent chateau.

Maison de Montgibaud is a 35 minute drive from the historic city of Limoges, known of course for its famous porcelain, which is readily available in the region. We are also 40 minutes away from large towns of Brive and Tulle.

Food

L’Escala Dau Lemosi - a bistro style French restaurant overlooking the stunning lake of Meuzac. Located only a 6 minute drive from us, you will be warmly welcomed here and is perfect for lunch out on the terrace or for an evening meal.

Le MaryMax - located in nearby Gare De Masseret, this is a restaurant designed in the style of a Swiss chalet located next a stunning lake. Open most days serving French bistro food at reasonable prices.

La Table De M - located in Uzerche, this is a modern French restaurant serving excellent French cuisine with an exceptional daily lunch special throughout the week.

L’inattendu - located in nearby Saint-Pardoux-Corbier, this is an upscale restaurant seasonal dishes, perfect for any special occasions.

Shopping

Limoges - The city has a wide range of shops offering fashion, gifts and of course porcelain.

Local Markets - We have a number of markets in the neighboring villages that you will be able to visit during your stay. These are on set days, so please ask during your stay for more information.

Exploration

‘Les Plus Beaux’ villages of France - The Limosin region has 7 of the most beautiful villages in France and 6 of those can be found in the Correze department in which the Maison is located. Two of the villages are in very close reach to us:

• Segur-Le-Chateau - 14km
• Saint Robert - 31km

Limoges and Brive-La-Gaillarde are both within easy reach of Maison de Montgibaud. Limoges is of course very famous for its porcelain. We can provide a map of the porcelain route and offer advice and tips to get the most out of your visits.

Brive-La-Gaillarde is home to an internationally renowned rugby team and there is a superb Saturday morning market.

Tulle (the capital of the Correze) is also a beautiful town and has lots to offer and is known as the town on the 7 hills.

Activities

Parc Zoo Reynou is a superb wildlife park and zoo featuring 130 different species of mammals and birds and can be found on the outskirts of Limoges, a 30 minute drive (38 km) from Maison de Montgibaud.

Coucou Aquapark, an amazing activity park centred around water activities and ideal for all ages can be found 40 minute drive (48 km) from us.

Cycling and walking

Maison de Montgibaud is an area of outstanding natural beauty and is an excellent and calm place to explore either by cycling or walking. We are able to provide maps with walking routes and cycling routes for all different levels and time durations.

Go Karting & Paintball

Maison de Montgibaud is only a 10 minute drive from JCS G0-Karting track in Lubersac which also has a mini golf course and paintballing is also available there. A really good day out for all the family and can easily be booked by us for you.
